Interior & Tech Features
The VW Amarok has arguably one of the best cabins compared to other pick-up trucks. The interior is dominated by a portrait-mounted central screen which is 10 inches in Life trim and 12 inches in all other grades. Most of the functions are controlled through the screen, including the drive modes, climate controls and navigation.
It comes standard with fabric-trimmed seats, an 8.0-inch digital instrument cluster, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone mirroring, a wireless charger, and a few storage spaces, including upper and lower glove boxes.
In terms of space, the Amarok is spacious and accommodates 2 people in the single cab configuration and up to 5 people in the double cabin configuration. All the seats are comfortable, even for tall occupants.
Performance
Under the hood, the VW Amarok three engine options; the 2.3 L TSI I4 turbo petrol engine and the 2.0 L TDI I4 turbo, 2.0 L TDI I4 twin-turbo and 3.0 L TDI V6 turbo, all diesel.
The engines are paired with a 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual, 6-speed 6R80 automatic, or a 10-speed automatic transmission.
